Lou Stringer (May 13, 1917 – October 19, 2008) was a second baseman in Major League Baseball who played for the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox between 1941 and 1950. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and raised in East Los Angeles, California, he entered the majors with the Cubs in 1941. His most productive season was that rookie year, when he set career highs with 145 games, 126 hits, 59 runs, and 53 runs batted in while batting .246. His career was interrupted by service in the United States Army Air Forces, which cost him the 1943 through 1945 seasons. He returned to the Cubs in 1946 and later played for the Red Sox from 1948 to 1950. Over a six-season career he batted .242 with 290 hits, 19 home runs, and 122 runs batted in across 409 games.
