Lovell Coleman (May 9, 1938 – August 10, 2016) was a running back born in Hamtramck, Michigan, who played college football at Western Michigan University from 1957 to 1959, where he rushed for 1,918 yards and set a school record with 279 yards in a single game against Central Michigan in 1958. Drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 17th round of the 1960 NFL Draft, Coleman chose instead to play in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders, where he spent eight seasons. He rushed for 6,234 career yards as a Stampeder and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award in 1964 after leading the league with 1,629 rushing yards on 260 carries.
