Lynn Curtis Swann was born March 7, 1952, in Alcoa, Tennessee, and grew up in San Mateo, California. He played wide receiver at the University of Southern California, earning consensus All-American honors. Pittsburgh selected him in the first round of the 1974 NFL Draft, and he spent his career with the Steelers, winning four Super Bowls. He was named MVP of Super Bowl X and earned three Pro Bowl selections. Swann was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
