Manuel Jose Fernandez (July 3, 1946 – May 24, 2026) was a defensive lineman who played eight seasons with the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. Born in Hayward, California, Fernandez attended Chabot Junior College before playing college football at the University of Utah under head coach Mike Giddings, where he was a three-year letterman. He signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent and appeared in three consecutive Super Bowls with the Dolphins in the 1971, 1972, and 1973 seasons. He recorded 35 career sacks as a nose tackle, including a team-leading 8 in 1971.
