Roy Maxwell Alvis (born February 2, 1938, in Jasper, Texas) was a third baseman in Major League Baseball from 1962 through 1970. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he led the Southwest Conference in batting average, Alvis spent the bulk of his career with the Cleveland Indians, earning two All-Star selections. He closed his major league tenure with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1970.
