Melvin Douglas Queen (March 26, 1942 – May 11, 2011) was a professional baseball player who spent all or part of nine seasons in Major League Baseball as both an outfielder and pitcher, batting left-handed and throwing right-handed. Born in Johnson City, New York, Queen was the son of pitcher Mel Queen Sr., who played for the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates. He starred in three sports at San Luis Obispo High School in California — a teammate of future major leaguer Jim Lonborg — before signing with the Cincinnati Reds organization. He later spent four seasons as a major league pitching coach.
