Mike Curtis

James Michael Curtis (1943–2020), nicknamed "Mad Dog" and "the Animal," was a linebacker who played 14 seasons in the NFL from 1965 to 1978 for the Baltimore Colts, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Redskins. A four-time Pro Bowl selection (1968, 1970, 1971, 1974), Curtis was named AFC Defensive Player of the Year in 1970 by a panel of 101 sportswriters. Though sacks were not officially tracked during his era, he recorded 22½ and intercepted 25 passes across his career. He grew up in Rockville, Maryland, where he starred at Richard Montgomery High School.
