Michael Evans (born April 19, 1955) played college basketball at Kansas State University, where he finished as the program's second all-time leading scorer with 2,115 points. The Denver Nuggets selected him with the 21st pick in the 1978 NBA Draft, and he went on to a nine-year professional career with the Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, and Cleveland Cavaliers. During his time in Denver he ranked among the league leaders in three-point shooting. After retiring as a player, Evans moved into coaching and scouting, including a stint as interim head coach of the Nuggets for the remainder of the 2001–02 season and later roles with the Toronto Raptors.
