Mike Jorgensen (born August 16, 1948) was a first baseman and outfielder who spent 17 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1968 to 1985. Raised in Bayside, Queens, he was drafted by the New York Mets in the fourth round of the 1966 draft. He was traded to the Montreal Expos in 1972 along with Tim Foli and Ken Singleton for Rusty Staub, and found his greatest success in Montreal, earning a Gold Glove Award at first base in 1973. He also played for the Cardinals, Braves, Rangers, and Athletics. Jorgensen is the only major league player born the day Babe Ruth died.
