Glenn "Doc" Rivers played point guard in the National Basketball Association for 14 seasons after being selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the 1983 NBA draft out of Marquette University. He spent the bulk of his playing career with the Hawks from 1983 to 1991, later suiting up for the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs before retiring in 1996. Rivers earned an All-Star selection with Atlanta in 1988.
