Saturnino Orestes "Minnie" Miñoso (November 29, 1924 – March 1, 2015) was a Cuban professional baseball player who began his career in the Negro leagues in 1946, playing third base for the New York Cubans. Signed by the Cleveland Indians after the 1948 season, he went on to star as a left fielder for the Indians and Chicago White Sox. The first Afro-Latino in the major leagues and the first Black player in White Sox history, he was an American League All-Star for seven seasons and a three-time Gold Glove winner. He batted over .300 for eight seasons and led the AL three times each in triples and stolen bases.
