Perce Leigh "Pat" Malone (September 25, 1902 – May 13, 1943) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1928 to 1937, spending the bulk of his career with the Chicago Cubs before finishing with the New York Yankees. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he spent six years in the minor leagues after an early signing by the New York Giants stalled. As a Cubs rookie in 1928, Malone won 18 games and ranked second in the National League with 155 strikeouts. In 1929 he led the NL in wins (22), shutouts (5), and strikeouts (166), becoming the league's first strikeout champion besides Dazzy Vance in seven years. He played for four pennant winners and two World Series champions.
