Dossier

Paul Brown (September 7, 1908 – August 5, 1991) was an American football coach and executive who shaped professional football across three leagues. After coaching stints at Severn School and Massillon Washington High School — where his teams lost only 10 games over 11 seasons — he led Ohio State to its first national championship in 1942. He co-founded the Cleveland Browns, a team named in his honor, and guided them to all four AAFC championships before winning three NFL titles in 1950, 1954, and 1955. Fired by Cleveland in 1963, he co-founded the Cincinnati Bengals in 1968 and coached through 1975.
