Paulino "Paul" Ortiz Casanova (December 31, 1941 – August 12, 2017) was a Cuban professional baseball player who served as a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1965 to 1974. Born in Perico, Cuba, and raised in Colón before his family relocated to Havana, Casanova played semi-pro ball and joined the Cuban professional league at 17. He was signed by a Cleveland Indians scout and later departed Cuba for the United States in February 1961. He spent his MLB career with the Washington Senators and Atlanta Braves.
