Paul Rapier Richards (November 21, 1908 – May 4, 1986) was a professional baseball catcher and right-handed batter who played in Major League Baseball from 1932 through 1946, appearing with the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, Philadelphia Athletics, and Detroit Tigers. Born in Waxahachie, Texas, he began his professional career in the minor leagues in 1926. After his playing days, Richards managed the Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles and served as general manager for the Orioles, Houston Colt .45s/Astros, and Atlanta Braves, building a long career as one of the sport's prominent executives.
