Paul Lawrence "Tank" Younger (1928–2001) played fullback, halfback, and linebacker in the NFL from 1949 to 1958 with the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended Grambling State University, where he led all college players with 25 touchdowns as a freshman in 1945 and graduated in 1948 holding the college football record for career touchdowns with 60. Younger was the first NFL player to come from an historically Black college or university. With the Rams he appeared in four NFL championship games, winning in 1951, earned four Pro Bowl selections, and was named All-Pro three times. He later became the NFL's first Black front-office executive and first Black assistant general manager.
