Pete Coscarart was an American Major League Baseball infielder who played second base and shortstop from 1938 to 1946. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1938-1941) and Pittsburgh Pirates (1942-1946). Over his career he batted .243 with 28 home runs and 269 RBI. He was selected as an All-Star in 1940, a season in which he hit nine home runs with 58 RBI across 143 games, and he was regarded as one of the National League's better defensive second basemen. He was a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers team that reached the 1941 World Series. After his playing career he worked as a scout for the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees, signing players including Graig Nettles. Coscarart was inducted into the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame in 1996. He played from the late Depression era through World War II.
