Phat Wilson

Dossier

Gordon Allan "Phat" Wilson (December 29, 1895 – July 26, 1970) was a Canadian amateur ice hockey forward from Port Arthur, Ontario. He took up skating through a church league in 1914 and developed into one of the top amateur players of his era. Playing for the Port Arthur Bearcats in the Northern Ontario Hockey Association, Wilson helped lead the team to Allan Cup championships in 1925, 1926, and 1929, winning Canada's national senior title three times. Despite interest from professional clubs in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto, he remained an amateur. Wilson was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963.
