Randy Carlyle (born April 19, 1956) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman who played over 1,000 NHL games for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Winnipeg Jets. He won the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the league's top defenceman in the 1980–81 season and served as captain for both the Penguins and Jets. After retiring as a player, Carlyle moved into coaching, eventually becoming head coach of the Anaheim Ducks in 2005, where he led the team to a Stanley Cup championship in 2007.
