Ewell Albert "Reb" Russell (1889–1973) was a left-handed pitcher who played Major League Baseball for the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates. In his 1913 rookie season with Chicago he went 22–16 with a 1.90 ERA, led the league in games pitched (52), and set a record with five 1–0 victories in a single season. He was the White Sox Opening Day starter in 1916 and led the team in wins (18), innings pitched, and shutouts while pacing the league in fewest walks per inning. Russell contributed to Chicago's 1917 American League pennant with a 15–5 record and 1.95 ERA before arm trouble ended his run with the club.
