Red Ames (August 2, 1882 – October 8, 1936) was born Leon Kessling and hailed from Warren, Ohio. Listed at 185 pounds, he was a switch-hitter who threw right. He played in the major leagues from 1903 through 1919, a 16-season run, spending most of his career with the New York Giants of the National League. He continued to play professionally through 1923 after his major-league career closed. His card record includes appearances on E125 American Caramel Die Cuts, E93 Standard Caramel, and T206 White Border. He died October 8, 1936 in Warren, Ohio and is buried at Oakwood Cemetery.
