Rich Campbell played quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League from 1981 to 1984. A product of Santa Teresa High School in San Jose, California, he played college football at the University of California, Berkeley, where he started for the California Golden Bears from his sophomore through senior seasons, 1978 to 1980. As a sophomore, he earned the Joe Roth Award, given annually to the Cal player who best exemplifies courage and sportsmanship. Green Bay selected him sixth overall in the first round of the 1981 NFL Draft.
