Richard Robert Saul (February 5, 1948 – April 15, 2012) played center and long snapper for the Los Angeles Rams from 1970 to 1981. A Michigan State product, he served as a reserve lineman before taking over as the starting center in 1975, replacing Ken Iman. Saul anchored the Rams' offensive line through one of the franchise's most competitive stretches, appearing in multiple NFC Championship Games during the mid-to-late 1970s. The Rams reached Super Bowl XIV following the 1979 season, winning the NFC title with playoff rushing totals of 159 and 216 yards against the Cowboys and Buccaneers.
