Rick Reichardt
Dossier
Rick Reichardt was a right-handed outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1964 to 1974 with the Los Angeles/California Angels, Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox, and Kansas City Royals. A two-sport star at the University of Wisconsin, he twice led the Big Ten Conference in batting and played fullback on the 1962 Rose Bowl team. His signing commanded a then-record $200,000 bonus from the Angels, a bidding war so intense it prompted MLB to institute the amateur draft beginning in 1965.
