Ronald James Chipperfield (born March 28, 1954, Brandon, Manitoba) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who served as the Edmonton Oilers' first NHL captain. He began his junior career with the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL in 1969–70, leading the league in scoring before moving to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WCHL, where he set numerous team and league records. In 1973–74 he scored 90 goals — a league record at the time — won the scoring title, and was named league MVP.
