Ron Plumb
Dossier
Ronald William Plumb (born July 17, 1950, Kingston, Ontario) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. A product of the Peterborough Petes, he won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL's top defenceman in 1970 and was drafted ninth overall by the Boston Bruins in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft. Rather than wait for ice time behind Boston's veteran roster, Plumb joined the WHA's Philadelphia Blazers in 1972, later moving with the franchise to Vancouver. He also played for the San Diego Mariners, Cincinnati Stingers, and New England Whalers, winning the WHA's Dennis A. Murphy Trophy as the league's best defenceman in 1977. He finished his career with the NHL's Hartford Whalers.
