Ronald Lee Reed (born November 2, 1942, LaPorte, Indiana) played professional basketball and baseball. After starring in multiple sports at LaPorte High School, he attended Notre Dame on a basketball scholarship, where the 6'6" power forward averaged 19 points and 14.3 rebounds per game over his college career and set the single-season rebounding record at 17.7 per game in his junior year. The Detroit Pistons selected him in the third round of the 1965 NBA draft; he spent two seasons there, averaging 8 points per game. He also signed with the Milwaukee Braves and went on to spend nearly two decades as a Major League Baseball pitcher.
