Roy Ellam

Roy Ellam (February 8, 1886 – October 28, 1948), known as "Whitey; Slippery", hailed from Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Listed at 203 pounds, he batted right-handed and threw right. He played in the major leagues from 1909 through 1918, a 9-season run, spending most of his career with the Cincinnati Reds of the National League. His broader professional career stretched from 1907 to 1930, bracketing his major-league years on both ends. To collectors, he is known from his appearance on T206 White Border. He died October 28, 1948 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania and is interred at Riverside Cemetery in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
