Roy Allen (known as Roy Hartzell) (July 6, 1881 – November 6, 1961) was born in Golden, Colorado. His professional career ran from 1906 through 1916, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the St. Louis Browns of the AL. After his major-league days ended in 1916, he continued in professional ball through 1917. He was listed at 155 pounds. He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the 1909 T204 Ramly cigarette set. His documented card checklist includes E92 Nadja Caramels and T204 Ramly.
