Rubén Amaro Jr. (born February 12, 1965, in Philadelphia) is an American former professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1991 to 1998. Raised in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, he attended William Penn Charter School and served as the Philadelphia Phillies' batboy from 1980 to 1983 while his father, infielder and coach Rubén Amaro Sr., was on the coaching staff. After his playing career he moved into front-office work, serving as general manager of the Phillies from 2008 to 2015. He later coached first base for the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets before moving into broadcasting.
