Sandy Alomar Jr. (born June 18, 1966, in Puerto Rico) was a catcher in Major League Baseball from 1988 to 2007. After winning Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year honors in both 1988 and 1989 with the San Diego organization, he was traded to the Cleveland Indians following the 1989 season—along with Carlos Baerga and Chris James—in exchange for Joe Carter. He spent his most prominent years in Cleveland, earning six All-Star selections and two American League pennants. He also played for the Padres, White Sox, Rockies, Rangers, Dodgers, and Mets. He was inducted into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame in 2009.
