Lynwood Thomas "Schoolboy" Rowe (1910–1961) was a right-handed pitcher who spent the bulk of his Major League Baseball career with the Detroit Tigers (1932–42) before finishing with the Philadelphia Phillies (1943, 1946–49). A native of Waco, Texas, who grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas, the 6-foot-4 Rowe was a multi-sport athlete in his youth, earning all-state football honors as a quarterback and competing in over 100 professional boxing matches. He was named to the All-Star team three times (1935, 1936, 1947) and appeared in three World Series with Detroit (1934, 1935, 1940).
