John Sherman Lollar Jr. (1924–1977) was a catcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1946 to 1963. Born in Durham, Arkansas, he began his career with the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Browns before spending his most productive years with the Chicago White Sox. Lollar earned seven American League All-Star selections and was a key contributor to the White Sox's 1959 American League pennant-winning club. In 1957, he received the first Rawlings Gold Glove Award ever issued to a catcher in the major leagues. After his playing career he worked as a coach and minor league manager.
