Sherwyn Arthur Thorson (May 10, 1940 – April 6, 2016) was an American professional football player who competed in the Canadian Football League with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, winning the Grey Cup in 1962. A product of the University of Iowa, Thorson also wrestled at heavyweight, placing second in 1960 and first in 1962. He was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007 and the University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011. Thorson died of cancer on April 6, 2016.
