Sidney Gordon (1917–1975) was a right-handed outfielder and corner infielder who spent 13 seasons in Major League Baseball. Born in Brooklyn and a product of Samuel J. Tilden High School, Gordon played for the New York Giants (1941–43, 1946–49, 1955), the Boston and Milwaukee Braves (1950–53), and the Pittsburgh Pirates (1954–55). A two-time All-Star, he finished his career with a .283 average, 202 home runs, and 805 RBI. Notably disciplined at the plate, he drew 731 walks against only 356 strikeouts. In three separate seasons he homered in every ballpark on the schedule.
