Dossier

Claude Edward (Skip) Lockwood Jr. (born August 17, 1946) was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1969 to 1980. A product of Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, where he earned 14 varsity letters in four years, Lockwood originally signed with the Kansas City Athletics as a third baseman in 1964. He converted to pitching and spent his early career with the Seattle Pilots and Milwaukee Brewers (1969–1973), becoming the last of the original Pilots to remain on the Brewers roster before being traded to the California Angels in 1974. He later pitched for the New York Mets (1975–1979) and Boston Red Sox (1980).
