Stefan Persson (born 22 December 1954) is a Swedish defenceman who began his career with Piteå IF before joining Brynäs in 1973, where he won two Swedish national championships (Le Mat Trophy) in 1976 and 1977. The New York Islanders drafted him during that period, and Persson spent nine seasons in the NHL with the club, earning praise from head coach Al Arbour for his responsible defensive play and passing ability. He was a member of four consecutive Stanley Cup championship teams in 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1983. He later became general manager of Borås HC in Sweden.
