Stephen Thomas Bilko (November 13, 1928 – March 7, 1978) was a right-handed first baseman born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. He entered professional baseball with the Allentown Cardinals in 1945 at age 16 and made his Major League debut with the St. Louis Cardinals on September 22, 1949. Standing 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, he was nicknamed "Stout Steve." Bilko earned his widest recognition with the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League from 1955 to 1957, winning three consecutive PCL Most Valuable Player awards and home run titles. In 1956 he claimed the PCL Triple Crown, batting .360.
