Steve Yeager played catcher in Major League Baseball from 1972 through 1986. He spent 14 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers before finishing his career with the Seattle Mariners in 1986. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, Yeager attended Meadowdale High School in Dayton, Ohio. He was co-MVP of the 1981 World Series with the Dodgers. After his playing career ended, he returned to the organization as catching coach from 2012 to 2018. He is a cousin of the late test pilot Chuck Yeager.
