Terry Evanshen
Dossier
Terry Evanshen was a wide receiver in the Canadian Football League who played for the Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Toronto Argonauts. His performance across those franchises earned him lasting recognition in the league — the CFL adopted the Terry Evanshen Trophy in 1994, awarded annually to the Most Outstanding Player of the East Division, replacing the retired Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy. After his playing career, Evanshen was involved in a serious car crash in 1988 that caused severe brain damage and significant memory loss, from which he recovered and went on to live a full life.
