Tom Ruud

Dossier

Thomas Robert Ruud (born July 26, 1953) played linebacker in the NFL after a standout college career with the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1972 to 1974. The Bloomington, Minnesota native was selected 19th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 1975 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with Buffalo and two with the Cincinnati Bengals, though his career began with a contract holdout that cost him most of his rookie training camp. Ruud stood 6'3" and weighed 223 pounds. Both of his sons, Barrett and Bo, later played at Nebraska and were drafted into the NFL.
