Toni Linhart
Dossier
Anton "Toni" Linhart (1942–2013) was an Austrian-born athlete who pursued two distinct professional careers in sport. Educated as an architectural engineer, he nearly qualified for Austria's 1960 Olympic downhill skiing team before beginning a 12-season association football career in Europe, including six appearances for the Austrian national team. He later transitioned to American football as a placekicker in the NFL, where he led the league in scoring in 1976 and earned a Pro Bowl selection that season. Linhart was born in Donawitz, Styria, and began his football career with Wiener Sportclub in the Austrian Bundesliga in 1962.
