This checklist card was issued by the Topps Company, founded in 1938 by brothers Abram, Ira, Philip, and Joseph Shorin. Originally a chewing gum manufacturer, Topps grew into a leading producer of sports and non-sports trading cards. The company also issues cards under the Allen & Ginter and Bowman brand names. In the 2010s, Topps held the exclusive trading card license with Major League Baseball; that license transferred to Fanatics in 2022, which subsequently acquired Topps the same year.
