Vern Den Herder

Vern Den Herder (born November 28, 1948) is a former NFL defensive end who spent 12 seasons with the Miami Dolphins, appearing in three Super Bowls. A native of Sioux Center, Iowa, Den Herder played college football at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he was a three-time All-Iowa Conference selection and team captain in his senior year. He graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry. In 1996, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
