Vernon Sanders Law (born March 12, 1930, Meridian, Idaho) was a right-handed pitcher who spent sixteen seasons in Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates, appearing from 1950 to 1951 and again from 1954 to 1967. A control pitcher, he ranked among the top three National League pitchers in walks per nine innings across multiple seasons. In 1960 he won the Cy Young Award — the first Pirates pitcher to receive the honor — and a World Series championship. In 1965 he earned the Lou Gehrig Award and the Associated Press National League Comeback Player of the Year Award. He was inducted into the Pirates Hall of Fame in August 2025.
