Wilmer Kenzie Hicks (1942–2020) was a defensive back who played college football at Texas Southern before spending six seasons with the Houston Oilers in the AFL (1964–1969) and three with the New York Jets in the NFL (1970–1972). In 1965 he led the AFL in interceptions with nine, earning All-AFL Second Team recognition, and was selected to the AFL All-Star Game in 1966. He finished his career with 40 interceptions, placing him among just 38 players in football history to reach that total across both leagues.
