Walter Ruether

Walter Henry Ruether (1893–1970) was a left-handed pitcher who spent eleven seasons in major league baseball, appearing for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Robins, Washington Senators, and New York Yankees. Born in Alameda, California, he attended St. Ignatius College before reaching the majors. Ruether appeared in three World Series across his career — with Cincinnati in 1919, Washington in 1925, and New York in 1926. He was also a member of the 1927 Yankees roster, though he did not pitch in that year's Series.
