Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Douglas Gretzky, born January 26, 1961, in Brantford, Ontario, played 20 seasons in the National Hockey League from 1979 to 1999 across four teams. He is the NHL's all-time leader in both career points and assists — the only player in league history with more assists than any other player has accumulated in total points. He is also the only player to record 200 or more points in a single season, a mark he reached four times, and he surpassed 100 points in 15 professional seasons. At retirement he held 61 NHL records across the regular season, playoffs, and All-Star play. He later served as an NHL head coach.
