Willie Montañez (born April 1, 1948, in Cataño, Puerto Rico) was a left-handed first baseman who played in Major League Baseball from 1966 through 1982. Originally signed by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1965, he was selected by the California Angels in the Rule 5 draft and made his major league debut in the 1966 season opener. He spent the bulk of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies (1970–1975, 1982), also suiting up for the Giants, Braves, Mets, Rangers, Padres, Expos, and Pirates. Alongside Tito Fuentes, Montañez was widely regarded as one of the most flamboyant personalities in the game during the 1970s.
