William Frederick "Woody" Woodward (born September 23, 1942) played in Major League Baseball as a shortstop and second baseman from 1963 to 1971. He spent his career with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds, appearing in 880 games with 517 hits and a .236 batting average. Before turning professional, Woodward played at Florida State University, earning third-team All-American honors in 1963 and a spot on the College World Series all-tournament squad. He was later acquired by Cincinnati alongside Tony Cloninger and Clay Carroll in a June 1968 trade with Atlanta.
